Are you looking for prayer in a tough life situation? Some of us have financial problems. Some have physical or emotional pain. Some have a relationship with a loved one that is upsetting. Some may even have all of the above. If you have already accepted Jesus’s gift of salvation, you can rest in knowing what the Bible says about prayer.
Philippians 4:6-7
…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 6:25-35
Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
As Christians, we are not supposed to worry. Instead we are told to trust God. As we read through the Bible, we will see that time after time, even when situations looked hopeless, God always had a good plan for His people. That doesn’t mean that God’s people never suffer. History teaches that 10 of Jesus’s own apostles were killed for spreading the gospel. Jesus doesn’t promise that we won’t have pain; He promises that when we do, He will be with us.
John 16:33
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
God promises that even when Christians suffer, He will work all situations out for our good. Jesus experienced suffering worse than any other human being. On the cross, He was separated from God. Even though God allowed this horrible suffering, He did not waste it. God used the worst suffering in the world to give people the greatest gift. If you have not yet accepted the gift of salvation from sin that Jesus offers, will you do so today? Click on the gospel section to learn more.

Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
